Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall affecting specific production runs of the CBR650R and CB1000 Hornet SP motorcycles sold within the Indian market. The recall addresses separate potential issues – a wiring concern in the CBR650R and potential oil consumption in the CB1000 Hornet SP – and will be conducted at no cost to owners, regardless of warranty status.

CB1000 Hornet SP Recall Details
The CB1000 Hornet SP recall impacts motorcycles produced between September 30, 2024, and August 22, 2025. The identified issue concerns a potential for increased engine oil consumption due to a component-related condition. While the issue can be mitigated by regularly checking and topping up oil levels, Honda will provide a permanent repair to address the root cause and prevent potential engine operation issues resulting from low oil pressure. The CB1000 Hornet SP utilizes a 1000cc, inline-four engine generating 157 PS and 107 Nm of torque.
- Engine Type: 1000cc, 16-valve DOHC, inline-4, liquid-cooled
- Power Output: 157 PS

CBR650R Recall Details
The recall pertains to CBR650R units manufactured between December 16, 2024, and May 4, 2025. Honda identified a potential for a short circuit within the turn signal system wiring. This issue could compromise regulatory compliance and potentially affect road safety for other motorists. The CBR650R is powered by a 649cc, inline-four engine producing 95 horsepower and 63 Nm of torque.
- Engine Type: 649cc, 16-valve DOHC, inline-4, liquid-cooled
