KTM Standardizes Four-Year Warranty for 2025 Street-Legal Range

KTM has announced a significant expansion of its warranty program, making a four-year coverage period standard for all street-legal motorcycles starting with the 2025 model year. This move replaces the previous two-year standard and aims to strengthen the brand’s competitive position by bolstering consumer trust across its global markets.

Warranty Scope and Eligibility

The extended coverage, formerly known as the ‘KTM Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty,’ is now integrated into the purchase price of all road-going models. The policy covers a broad spectrum of the manufacturer’s portfolio, including the following segments:

  • Adventure and Dual Sport
  • Naked and Supersport
  • Sports Tourer and SuperMoto

While the program covers all engine displacements within the street range, KTM has specified that track-only and closed-course competition motorcycles remain excluded from this four-year term. The warranty is applied automatically without additional fees or registration processes for the buyer.

Maintenance Requirements and Transferability

A notable feature of the new policy is that the warranty is tied to the motorcycle rather than the owner. This transferability ensures that subsequent buyers remain covered for the remainder of the four-year term, provided the vehicle’s service history is documented. To maintain the validity of the coverage, KTM requires all routine maintenance and repairs to be conducted through authorized KTM dealerships; third-party servicing may void the agreement.

Regional Incentives and Market Context

In select European markets, the manufacturer is pairing the warranty with Service Activated Roadside Assistance (SARA). This program provides a 12-month roadside assistance extension each time a rider completes a scheduled annual service at an authorized facility. This initiative follows a period of aggressive growth for the brand under Bajaj Auto’s controlling stake. In January 2026, KTM reported total sales of 16,411 units, representing a 143.70% year-on-year increase. The brand is also expected to diversify its mid-capacity lineup soon, introducing 350cc models to sit alongside the current 390cc range to better align with international tax and licensing tiers.
