Market Context and Sales Performance

The i7 currently stands as the second-highest selling electric model in BMW’s Indian portfolio, following the iX1 SUV. This milestone contributes to a significant period of growth for the manufacturer’s electric division. In 2025, BMW recorded a 200 percent year-on-year increase in EV sales, moving 3,753 units. Consequently, electric vehicles now represent 21 percent of the brand’s total sales volume, allowing BMW to lead the premium EV segment over competitors like Audi, Volvo, and Mercedes-Benz.

The BMW i7 is offered in two performance tiers, both utilizing a 101.7kWh battery pack. The technical specifications for the available trims are as follows:

  • eDrive50 M Sport: Utilizes a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration generating 449hp and 650Nm of torque.
  • xDrive M70: The high-performance variant delivering 650hp and a peak torque of 1015Nm.

Interior Features and Technology

As the brand’s flagship electric sedan, the i7 is equipped with a suite of high-end technological and comfort-oriented features designed for both the driver and rear passengers. Key equipment includes:
