BMW has released the technical specifications for the upcoming X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro in India, positioning it as the most powerful petrol variant in the local lineup. Pre-bookings for the new trim have officially opened, with a formal price announcement scheduled for February 16, 2026.
Powertrain and Performance
The 30 xDrive M Sport Pro is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This setup delivers 258hp and 400Nm of torque, distributed to all four wheels via an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. Performance figures and efficiency data include:
- 0-100kph acceleration: 6.3 seconds
- Claimed fuel efficiency: 14.61kpl
- Comparison: Significantly faster than the 20 xDrive (7.8s) and 20d xDrive (7.7s) variants
This output makes the 30 xDrive the flagship performance option for the X3 range in the Indian market.
Exterior and Design Enhancements
The M Sport Pro trim introduces several aesthetic updates to distinguish it from the standard X3 range. Most notably, the vehicle now sits on 20-inch alloy wheels, a size increase over the 19-inch rims found on lower trims. Other design specificities include:
- Gloss black finish for the kidney grille and red M Sport brake calipers
- Introduction of a Brooklyn Grey exterior paint option
- Illuminated grille surround and M-specific fender badging
- Standard all-LED lighting architecture
Interior Technology and Safety
The cabin maintains the updated dashboard layout, featuring a curved display housing a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. Standard equipment for this high-spec variant includes a 15-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a head-up display (HUD), and three-zone automatic climate control. Front passengers are provided with ventilated sport seats, with memory functions included for the driver.
Safety and driver assistance systems are comprehensive, featuring a 360-degree camera system, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite. An electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality and a powered tailgate are also standard features.
Market Positioning and Competition
While official pricing will be confirmed in mid-February, the X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro is expected to carry a premium over the current X3 price bracket of Rs 72.10 lakh to Rs 73.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will continue to compete in the luxury mid-size SUV segment against the Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
