Bugatti Unveils FKP Hommage, a 1,600hp Tribute to the Veyron

Bugatti has introduced the FKP Hommage, a new one-off hypercar designed to commemorate the Veyron and honor Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the former Volkswagen Group head instrumental in the Veyron project. This bespoke vehicle, described as the second commission from Bugatti’s Solitaire coachbuilding program, features a heavily uprated 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine generating 1,600 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque.

Bugatti FKP Hommage Design and Heritage

The FKP Hommage’s structure is derived from the Mistral roadster, featuring custom bodywork that reinterprets the Veyron’s design with contemporary elements. Exterior details include slimmer LED headlights with L-shaped daytime running light signatures, enlarged air dams, and a more prominent grille. The vehicle showcases a two-tone red-and-black color scheme, replicating the livery of the inaugural Veyron, with the black elements rendered in carbon fiber. Further stylistic nods include 12-spoke chrome wheels (20 inches front, 21 inches rear), dual roof-mounted air intakes, chrome fuel filler caps positioned aft of the windows, and the characteristic C-shaped side air intakes. At the rear, the FKP Hommage incorporates a four-circular LED light arrangement similar to the Veyron, flanking a substantial “EB” emblem, alongside a wider rear duct, a reconfigured diffuser, and a four-tip exhaust system.

Inside, the cabin features brown leather upholstery complemented by EB-embroidered fabric inserts on the seats and door panels. The interior layout largely mirrors that of the Veyron, including a silver-trimmed center console and a three-spoke steering wheel. Diverging from the Veyron’s analog instrumentation, the FKP Hommage utilizes a central odometer flanked by smaller digital displays, and its center console incorporates four extruded knobs with integrated displays instead of conventional physical controls. A notable interior feature is an octagonal Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon timepiece centrally mounted on the dashboard.

Powertrain Specifications

Powering the FKP Hommage is an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine, an evolution of the powerplant first seen in the Veyron. The original Veyron produced 1,001 horsepower and 1,250 Nm, with subsequent iterations like the Veyron Super Sport increasing output to 1,200 horsepower and 1,500 Nm. For the FKP Hommage, this W16 unit has been further optimized to deliver 1,600 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque, making it the most potent iteration of the engine to date. This output is channeled to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Exclusivity and Availability

The Veyron, first launched in 2005, was pivotal in re-establishing Bugatti’s market presence following its acquisition by the Volkswagen Group in 1998, achieving renown for being among the fastest, most powerful, and most expensive road-legal cars globally at the time. The FKP Hommage continues this legacy as a dedicated one-off commission. Bugatti has not disclosed the price of this exclusive vehicle.
