Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has expanded its 125cc scooter portfolio with the launch of the Dio 125 X-edition. Priced at Rs 87,733 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new variant introduces a refreshed aesthetic to the lineup while maintaining the technical specifications of the existing model.
Design and Styling Updates
The primary differentiator for the X-edition is its specific visual treatment. It features a new dual-tone blue and grey paint scheme complemented by contrasting red accents. To further distinguish the variant, Honda has equipped the scooter with red-painted alloy wheels, moving away from the more traditional finishes found on the standard trims.
Technical Specifications and Performance

Mechanically, the Dio 125 X-edition is identical to the standard version. It continues to be powered by a 123.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Performance figures remain consistent across the range:
- Maximum Power: 8.3hp
- Peak Torque: 10.5Nm
- Engine Type: Air-cooled, 4-stroke, SI engine
The rolling chassis, suspension setup, and braking hardware are carried over without modification from the base Dio 125.
Features and Equipment Levels
The X-edition sits between the entry-level variant and the flagship H-Smart trim in terms of equipment. While it features a digital TFT instrument cluster, it lacks the Bluetooth connectivity suite required for smartphone-based navigation or notification alerts. Additionally, the X-edition does not include the keyless ignition system, a feature that remains exclusive to the H-Smart variant.
Market Positioning and Competition
With a price tag of Rs 87,733, the X-edition carries a premium of Rs 1,000 over the standard Dio 125 but remains Rs 3,950 more affordable than the H-Smart model. This new variant is positioned to compete in the increasingly crowded sporty 125cc scooter segment. Key rivals include the TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Avenis, Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid, and the Hero Xoom 125.
