Jeep India Introduces Meridian Track Edition with Cosmetic Upgrades

Jeep India has expanded its SUV portfolio with the launch of the Meridian Track Edition, a limited-run model that introduces a series of aesthetic enhancements to the brand’s three-row flagship. Based on the top-tier Overland trim, the Track Edition is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. This new iteration carries a price premium of approximately Rs 34,000 over the standard Overland variant, positioning it as a niche offering for buyers seeking a more distinct visual presence.

Powertrain and Mechanical Specifications

Despite the sportier nomenclature, the Track Edition retains the mechanical underpinnings of the standard Meridian. It continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder multijet diesel engine, which generates 170bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm. Power is managed by a nine-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The SUV is offered with two drivetrain options: a front-wheel-drive (4×2) system and an all-wheel-drive (4×4) system, ensuring the model’s off-road capabilities remain intact.

Interior and Exterior Design Updates

The Track Edition is distinguished by several model-specific design elements. On the exterior, the SUV features piano black finishes on the front grille, exterior mouldings, and badging. A unique hood decal and a “Track Edition” emblem on the tailgate further differentiate it from the standard lineup. Inside, the cabin has been revised with a more premium material palette, including:

  • Dual-tone leatherette and suede upholstery featuring quilted stitching.
  • Suede dashboard inserts with contrast stitching.
  • A Cortina leather-wrapped steering wheel.
  • Dark Espresso interior accents and Piano Black bezels.
  • Custom “Track Edition” appliques on the dashboard and floor mats.

Technology and Safety Suite

As the Track Edition is derived from the Overland trim, it incorporates a comprehensive list of high-end features. The technological suite includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, alongside a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Safety and convenience are addressed via Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a panoramic sunroof, and an Alpine-sourced premium audio system. The front seats remain powered and ventilated, including a memory function for the driver.

Market Pricing and Availability

The Jeep Meridian Track Edition is priced at Rs 35.95 lakh for the 4×2 variant and Rs 37.82 lakh for the 4×4 variant (ex-showroom). Jeep has also specified a mandatory AXS pack, which adds an additional Rs 9,200 to the final cost. Bookings for this limited-run edition have officially commenced through Jeep’s nationwide dealership network and the company’s online sales portal.
