JSW MG Motor India has confirmed the official launch date for its upcoming flagship SUV, the MG Majestor, on February 12, 2026. Following its initial appearance at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, the Majestor is positioned as a premium, larger-dimensioned alternative to the MG Gloster, aimed at the ladder-frame SUV segment currently led by the Toyota Fortuner.
Mechanical Specifications and Off-Road Hardware

The Majestor is engineered for utility and off-road performance, utilizing a traditional ladder-frame chassis. It is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, paired with an automatic gearbox. To distinguish itself in the segment, MG is likely to offer a 4X4 transfer case as standard equipment. Technical observations indicate the inclusion of three locking differentials, a feature not currently found on its primary competitors. The SUV sits on large alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain (A/T) tyres, supported by a ground clearance of 246 mm.
Dimensions and Interior Versatility

The MG Majestor features a significant footprint, measuring 5,046 mm in length, 2,016 mm in width, and 1,876 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. These dimensions contribute to a versatile interior and substantial cargo capacity:
- Standard Boot Space: 343 litres with all three rows in use.
- Extended Cargo: 1,350 litres with the third row folded.
- Maximum Capacity: 2,382 litres with both the second and third rows stowed.
While the interior architecture is based on the Gloster, the Majestor introduces a revised infotainment screen, updated steering wheel design, redesigned air conditioning vents, and upgraded upholstery materials.
Design and Aesthetics
The exterior design follows a boxy, upright silhouette with a flat clamshell-type bonnet and thick body cladding. The front fascia is defined by a large MG-branded grille and a lighting setup that includes vertically oriented headlights alongside both horizontal and vertical LED DRLs. The rear features a connected LED tail lamp design, consistent with modern automotive styling trends.
Market Positioning
The MG Majestor is the Indian market equivalent of the MG Rakan, which was recently introduced in Kuwait. By offering larger dimensions and higher mechanical specifications than the Gloster, MG Motor India aims to capture a larger share of the premium SUV market. Final pricing and variant details will be disclosed at the official launch event on February 12.
