Jeep India has officially released the MY26 Meridian, introducing a functional update aimed at improving cabin flexibility. The latest iteration of the three-row SUV features a sliding second-row seat mechanism on its premium trims, addressing long-standing critiques regarding third-row legroom. Despite the hardware update, the manufacturer has opted to keep the pricing unchanged across the lineup.

MY2026 Jeep Meridian Enhanced Cabin Versatility
The standout feature of the MY26 update is the manual sliding function for the second-row seats, now standard on the Limited (O) and Overland variants. Utilizing the existing 60:40 split configuration, the seats can be adjusted longitudinally to balance space between the middle and rear rows. The larger section of the bench offers 130mm of travel, while the smaller portion moves by up to 140mm. This feature is absent in the base Longitude and Longitude Plus trims. Furthermore, while the entry-level Longitude remains a five-seater, the rest of the range retains the seven-seat architecture.
Jeep Meridian 2026 Mechanical Specifications
The Meridian continues to be powered by the familiar 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine, producing 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission and a nine-speed torque converter automatic. While front-wheel drive is the default configuration, the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system is available exclusively with the automatic transmission on the higher-spec Limited (O) and Overland trims.
