Renault has introduced the Filante as its new flagship SUV, representing a key component of the manufacturer’s EUR 3 billion “2027 International Game Plan.” The vehicle, which measures over 4.9 metres in length, is the longest model currently produced by the French brand. Developed primarily for the South Korean and Middle Eastern markets, the Filante is intended to elevate Renault’s presence in the premium crossover segment.
Hybrid Performance and Architecture
The Filante is built on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) developed by Geely, a platform it shares with the Grand Koleos. It is powered by a strong-hybrid system that combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with dual electric motors and a 1.64kWh lithium-ion battery. This configuration delivers a total system output of 250hp and 565Nm of torque, directed through a three-speed “Multimode Auto” transmission.
Exterior Styling
The SUV features a coupe-like silhouette characterized by a steeply raked roofline and a ducted rear spoiler. Key design details include:
- 20-inch alloy wheels with intricate geometric patterns.
- An illuminated Renault emblem integrated into the front grille.
- Hexagonal pod-style LED headlights and 3D-effect taillights.
- High ground clearance paired with an athletic stance.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the Filante offers a five-seat configuration and 633 litres of luggage capacity. The cabin utilizes premium materials such as suede roof lining and blue-hued accents across the dashboard, door cards, and seatbelts. The technological centerpiece is a triple-screen layout consisting of three 12.3-inch displays. Notably, the front passenger has access to an independent screen compatible with Bluetooth headphones for streaming video or audiobooks.
Safety and Convenience
The flagship SUV is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane-keeping assistance. Additional features include:
