Royal Enfield has recorded its highest-ever annual sales performance, surpassing the one-million-unit threshold in the Indian domestic market for the first time during the 2025 calendar year. The manufacturer dispatched 10,71,809 motorcycles locally, representing a 25 percent increase over the 8,57,378 units sold in 2024. This domestic milestone was accompanied by a robust export performance, with international shipments rising 36 percent to 132,132 units.
Segment Dominance and Model Performance
The company’s growth continues to be anchored by its 350cc platform, which maintains a near-total control of the mid-size motorcycle market. Key performance indicators for the current fiscal year (April–December 2025) include:
- 250-350cc Category: Royal Enfield holds a 95 percent market share, selling 7,58,458 units.
- Bestselling Models: The Classic 350 leads the portfolio with a 40 percent share of its segment, followed by the Bullet 350 at 25 percent. The Hunter 350 and Meteor 350 account for the remaining volume.
- 500-800cc Category: The brand remains the primary player with a 97 percent market share, dispatching 35,843 units of its 650cc twins.
Competitive Landscape in the 400cc Segment
Despite dominance in the entry-level and upper-mid-capacity segments, Royal Enfield faces significant competition in the 350-500cc space. The combined sales of the Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450 reached 27,517 units, a 7 percent year-on-year decline. In this specific category, Bajaj Auto maintains leadership with a 60 percent market share through its KTM, Triumph, and proprietary 400cc models, while Royal Enfield holds a 28 percent share.
Strategic Pricing and Fiscal Outlook
A significant driver for the 2025 volume surge was the implementation of price revisions following the GST 2.0 rate reductions. Royal Enfield passed the full benefit to consumers, reducing prices of its core 350cc models by up to Rs 22,000. This strategy contributed to record-breaking monthly wholesales, peaking at 1,16,844 units in October 2025.
Looking ahead to the conclusion of Fiscal Year 2026, the company is on track to replicate its calendar-year success. With 8,21,908 units already dispatched between April and December 2025, maintaining the current monthly average of approximately 91,000 units will see the manufacturer cross the one-million-unit domestic sales mark for the full fiscal year.
