Skoda to Expand Kylaq Lineup with New Variants and Feature Upgrades

Skoda India is set to broaden the appeal of its Kylaq compact SUV by introducing two new variants, the Classic+ and Prestige+, alongside a feature revision for mid-spec trims. This expansion will take the Kylaq’s total trim count from four to six, aiming to bridge existing gaps in the lineup and offer more transmission choices at lower price points.

Enhanced Entry and Range-Topping Trims

Scheduled for a March launch, the Classic+ variant will sit just above the entry-level Classic. Unlike the base model, which is limited to a manual gearbox, the Classic+ will be available with both manual and automatic transmissions. Key additions to this trim include:

  • 16-inch alloy wheels
  • Electric sunroof
  • Cruise control
  • Steering-mounted audio controls
  • Automatic wipers and an auto-dimming internal rear-view mirror

At the other end of the spectrum, the Prestige+ will debut as the new flagship, offering additional comfort features over the current top-tier Prestige trim.

Mid-Spec Feature Updates

The existing Signature and Signature+ variants are also slated for an equipment boost. Skoda will trickle down several premium features previously reserved for the Prestige trim. These updates include the addition of a sunroof, rear wiper, and automatic rain-sensing wipers. Furthermore, automatic versions of these mid-spec trims will now feature paddle shifters for manual gear control. Consequently, pricing for these variants is expected to rise from the current range of Rs 9.09 lakh to Rs 11.44 lakh.

Visual Upgrades via Sportline

By September, Skoda will introduce the Kylaq Sportline. This variant focuses on aesthetic differentiation rather than mechanical performance, featuring unique interior and exterior styling cues to provide a more aggressive appearance. This follows the brand’s strategy of offering sportier-looking trims without altering the underlying powertrain.

Pricing and Availability

The new variants are positioned to compete in the crowded sub-four-meter SUV segment. The ex-showroom prices for the new trims are as follows:

  • Classic+: Rs 8.25 lakh (MT) / Rs 9.25 lakh (AT)
  • Signature+: Rs 10.77 lakh (MT) / Rs 11.77 lakh (AT)
  • Prestige+: Rs 11.99 lakh (MT) / Rs 12.99 lakh (AT)

Skoda has also confirmed that the Kylaq lineup will be further bolstered by a Sportline trim later this year, which is anticipated to feature darkened aesthetic elements and additional interior equipment.
