Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially entered the domestic electric two-wheeler market with the e-Access, though initial retail figures suggest a cautious reception from consumers. Following its January 2026 launch—which occurred approximately seven months after production commenced in May 2025—the manufacturer dispatched 703 units to dealerships. According to Vahan retail data, 370 of these units reached customers by February 14, 2026.
Market Penetration and Sales Volume
In its debut month, Suzuki registered 201 retail sales, capturing a 0.16 percent share of the 1.23 lakh electric two-wheelers sold across India in January. The momentum continued into the first half of February, with an additional 169 units delivered between February 1 and 14. This performance places the e-Access behind established segment leaders like the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak in terms of volume.
Technical Specifications and Battery Technology
The e-Access is the first model built on the proprietary Suzuki e-Technology architecture. Key technical highlights include:
- Battery: 3kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) unit.
- Range: A claimed Indian Drive Cycle (IDC) range of 95 km.
- Durability: Validation includes thermal stress, water submersion, and vibration testing to meet global standards.
The choice of LFP chemistry is intended to provide a longer service life compared to standard Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) alternatives.
Pricing and Ownership Incentives
Positioned at the premium end of the market, the Suzuki e-Access carries an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.88 lakh in Delhi. To mitigate concerns regarding the high initial cost and long-term value, Suzuki has introduced several ownership benefits:
- A complimentary 7-year or 80,000 km extended warranty.
- A guaranteed 60 percent buyback assurance valid for three years.
Industry analysts attribute the modest initial offtake to the significant price premium the e-Access commands over its primary competitors in the Indian electric scooter landscape.
