Toyota Kirloskar Motor has implemented a price hike for the Innova Crysta, affecting the entire lineup of the popular diesel MPV. Effective immediately, the model sees an upward revision of up to Rs. 26,000, while the vehicle remains identical in terms of equipment and mechanical hardware. The Innova Crysta is currently positioned alongside the newer Innova Hycross as a dedicated diesel alternative in the manufacturer’s portfolio.
Technical Specifications and Performance
Under the hood, the Innova Crysta continues to utilize the 2.4-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. This powertrain delivers 150 HP and a peak torque of 343 Nm. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox; an automatic transmission remains absent from the current Crysta lineup. The vehicle is available in four distinct trim levels: GX, GX+, VX, and ZX.
Interior Features and Safety Equipment
The cabin layout and feature set remain unchanged following this price adjustment. Key interior highlights include:
- 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Analogue instrument cluster with a central TFT multi-information display
- 8-way power-adjustable driver\’s seat
- Automatic climate control with dedicated rear air conditioning vents
Safety equipment includes three airbags provided as standard across the range, while the top-spec trim offers up to seven. Other safety features include front and rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, and hill-start assist control.
Revised Pricing Structure
The price increments vary between Rs. 19,000 and Rs. 26,000 depending on the specific variant and seating configuration. The entry-level GX trim, available in both 7- and 8-seater formats, now starts at Rs. 18.85 lakh. The range-topping ZX 7-seater variant has received the maximum hike, bringing its new ex-showroom price to Rs. 25.53 lakh. Customers opting for the Platinum White Pearl exterior shade will continue to incur an additional premium of Rs. 14,000.
Market Outlook and Lifecycle
First introduced in 2016, the current iteration of the Innova Crysta is expected to conclude its production run by 2027. This timeline aligns with the anticipated implementation of stricter Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE-3) norms. Within the Indian market, the Crysta continues to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, the Kia Carens, and Toyota\’s own hybrid-focused Innova Hycross.
