Citroen India Updates Pricing for Basalt, Aircross, and C3 Lineup

Citroen India has implemented a price revision across its primary model lineup, affecting the C3 hatchback, the Aircross SUV, and the Basalt SUV-coupe. Effective immediately, the adjustments see price increases ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 45,000, depending on the model and variant. No mechanical updates or feature additions have been introduced alongside these changes.

Powertrain and Trim Overview

All three models continue to utilize the 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine platform. This includes a naturally aspirated version producing 82hp and a turbocharged variant delivering 110hp. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual for the naturally aspirated engine, while the turbo-petrol is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

  • Citroen Basalt: Available in You, Plus, and Max trims.
  • Citroen Aircross: Offered in You, Plus, and Max trims (5-seater and 7-seater configurations).
  • Citroen C3: Available in Live, Live (O), Feel, Feel (O), and Shine trims.

Citroen Basalt Price Adjustments

The Basalt SUV-coupe has received a uniform price hike of Rs 20,000 across its entire range. The entry-level “You” variant now starts at Rs 8.15 lakh, while the top-tier Max Turbo AT is priced at Rs 13.35 lakh. Customers opting for dual-tone finishes on the Max trim will incur an additional cost of Rs 21,000.

Citroen Aircross Price Adjustments

The Aircross SUV sees the most significant variation in its new pricing structure. While the base “You” and mid-spec “Plus” trims have increased by Rs 20,000, the top-spec Max 7-seater Turbo AT has seen a jump of Rs 45,000. Notably, the recently launched Max 5-seater Turbo variants maintain their previous pricing. The Aircross range now spans from Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 13.94 lakh.

Citroen C3 Price Adjustments

The C3 hatchback’s pricing has been revised by up to Rs 40,000. The entry-level “Live” trim now starts at Rs 4.95 lakh, following a Rs 15,000 increase. The most significant hikes are reserved for the “Shine” variants, which are now Rs 40,000 more expensive. The mid-range “Feel (O)” manual variant remains at its introductory price of Rs 5.49 lakh.

Market Position and Competition

With these revisions, the Citroen Basalt continues to compete against the Tata Curvv, while the Aircross remains an alternative to mid-size SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The C3 hatchback maintains its position against sub-compact rivals like the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
