Mattighofen, Austria – Bajaj Auto has completed its acquisition of full control of KTM, resulting in the rebranding of Pierer Mobility AG to Bajaj Mobility AG, effective January 13, 2026. The move, finalized on November 18, 2025, signifies a major shift in ownership within the European motorcycle landscape and consolidates Bajaj’s position as a key player in the global two-wheeler market.
Ownership Transition
The acquisition involved Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV (BAIH) purchasing all 50,100 shares of Pierer Bajaj AG (PBAG) from Pierer Industrie AG, effectively ending the Pierer Group’s involvement in PBAG. This strategic decision follows earlier agreements and represents the culmination of a long-term partnership between the two companies.
Brand Portfolio
Bajaj Mobility AG will serve as the holding company for the KTM Group, encompassing the KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas brands. The company headquarters will remain in Mattighofen, Austria, ensuring continuity in operations and maintaining the established engineering and manufacturing base.
Future Outlook
While the immediate operational changes are expected to be minimal, industry analysts anticipate that Bajaj’s increased ownership will facilitate greater synergy in product development, supply chain management, and global market penetration for the KTM Group brands. The rebranding to Bajaj Mobility AG reflects this new era of integrated ownership and strategic direction.
