Suzuki has introduced the 2026 model year update for the Jimny Nomade in the Japanese market, focusing on a significant overhaul of the vehicle’s safety architecture. The primary highlight of the MY26 refresh is the transition to a more advanced Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), replacing the previous generation’s hardware to meet evolving safety standards.
Advanced Safety and Radar Integration
The 2026 Jimny Nomade moves away from the older monocular camera and laser radar configuration. In its place, Suzuki has implemented the Dual Sensor Brake Support II system. This updated suite utilizes a combination of stereo cameras and a Millimeter (MM) wave radar, providing higher precision for the vehicle’s safety functions. Key features of this integration include:
- Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): Enhanced detection capabilities for various road conditions.
- Adaptive Cruise Control: Now available specifically for variants equipped with the automatic transmission.
- Exterior Modifications: To accommodate the new hardware, the front bumper features a dedicated cutout for the MM wave radar module.
Interior and Aesthetic Refinements
Beyond safety tech, Suzuki has implemented several incremental updates to the cabin and exterior palette. The instrument cluster now houses a new color Multi-Information Display (MID), offering expanded data readouts for the driver. The center stack continues to feature a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with integrated Suzuki Connect and a reversing camera.
On the exterior, a new “Granite Grey Metallic” paint option has been added, bringing the total available color choices to seven. While the Jimny Nomade is manufactured in India and shares significant DNA with the 5-door Jimny XL sold in international markets like Australia and the Middle East, these specific Japanese-spec upgrades reflect a localized push for high-tier safety equipment.
Market Demand and Pricing Adjustments
Despite the updates, Suzuki continues to manage extreme demand through a lottery-based allocation system. Following a brief hiatus, bookings officially resumed on January 30, 2026. The high interest is evidenced by the 50,000 bookings recorded within the first four days of the previous order window.
The technological enhancements come with a price adjustment. Both the manual and automatic variants of the 2026 Suzuki Jimny Nomade are now priced at JPY 2,926,000 (approximately Rs 17.42 lakh). This represents a JPY 270,000 (approximately Rs 1.6 lakh) increase over the outgoing manual model’s price of JPY 2,651,000. While these updates are currently confirmed for Japan, industry observers suggest the radar-based ADAS could eventually be integrated into the Indian-spec Maruti Suzuki Jimny should market demand justify the addition.
