Citroen India has announced a strategic shift in its manufacturing operations, moving toward a bookings-led production model for specific vehicle variants. Under this new approach, production will be dictated by confirmed customer orders rather than maintaining dealer inventory. The initiative commences with the introduction of two new variants: the Aircross X Max Turbo 5-seater MT, priced at ₹12.41 lakh, and the C3 Live (O), positioned at ₹5.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Operational Strategy and Market Alignment
The transition to an order-to-build mechanism is intended to synchronize factory output with real-time consumer demand. According to Stellantis India, this move allows the brand to sharpen its product portfolio while optimizing manufacturing capacity. The Aircross X Max and C3 Live (O) serve as the pilot models for this demand-driven logistics framework.
Aircross X Max Turbo 5-Seater: Focus on Cabin Ergonomics
The new Aircross X Max Turbo 5-seater variant is tailored for buyers prioritizing second-row comfort over total seating capacity. By omitting the third row found in other configurations, Citroen has reconfigured the interior to offer improved passenger space and utility. Key updates include:
- An additional 60mm of knee room for rear-seat occupants.
- A rear center armrest featuring integrated cup holders.
- A three-step reclining mechanism for the rear bench.
This variant is available in three exterior shades—Polar White, Deep Forest Green, and Perla Nera Black—all paired with a Dark Brown interior color scheme.
C3 Live (O): Expanded Equipment for the Entry-Level Hatchback
In the hatchback segment, the new C3 Live (O) variant has been introduced as an upgraded version of the base trim. This specific model is available exclusively in Perla Nera Black and incorporates more than ten additional features to enhance its value proposition. Notable equipment additions include:
- A 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
- Integrated rearview camera and leatherette seat upholstery.
- Exterior refinements including full wheel covers and additional body cladding.
These updates represent Citroen’s effort to provide a more tech-focused entry point for the C3 lineup while maintaining a competitive price structure.
