JSW MG Motor India has commenced the 2026 calendar year with positive momentum, reporting a 9 per cent year-on-year increase in retail sales. The automaker delivered 4,843 units in January 2026, supported by a diverse portfolio of electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
Current Market Drivers
The Windsor EV continues to be a primary volume driver for the brand, maintaining its position as a leading electric vehicle in the Indian market. Its performance is attributed to a combination of cabin space, competitive pricing, and range efficiency. On the ICE side, the recently updated Hector facelift has seen a significant uptick in consumer interest, stabilizing MG’s presence in the mid-size SUV segment.
Premium Segment and MG Select
The company’s luxury-focused “MG Select” channel also contributed to the January performance. Key highlights include:
- The Cyberster electric roadster, which recently introduced a new “Irises Cyan” exterior paint option.
- The M9 MPV, targeting the high-end multi-purpose vehicle market.
